Enough of my silence…

about me, blog by marek 65 Comments »

I am excited to once again become more active in blogging. I noticed that my last post was in December of 2007, way to long. Since 3 days ago I am camping in Oshkosh, Wisconsin at Lifest with my daughters, having a blast with thousands of other people. I will try posting some stuff here soon from Lifest. Glad to be back!

Blog Action Day

blog, faith, news, politics by marek 141 Comments »

Today is blog action day. Many blogs, including “Think This // After Hours” is bringing attention to this effort - the effort of focusing attention on our environment. Here is my take. God created everything:

The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. Acts 17:24

God – Jesus – sustains everything by his word:

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. Hebrews 1:3

We are the stewards what God entrusted to us – his creation. We are responsible for managing it well. However, God is upholding it all – no “global warming” will have any effect on the environment or surprise God.

So, I do join this day to spread awareness about the environment. God created it and He is sustaining it by his word. We are the stewards, so let’s be smart about it, and do not fall into each extreme.

Thanks to Pronet Advertising for making me aware.

My original blog assumed more professional focus of Search Informed Marketing. I renamed it today to “Think Search Engines //.” I promise that all work related topics will be discussed over there. :)

Why Do I Blog?

about me, blog by marek 9 Comments »

061220_descartes_blogger.gifSomeone very important asked me yesterday “Why do you blog?” That is a great question. I have been toying with the idea of blogging for already a few years, yes … years. Finally in April of 2006 I started this blog as “The Big Sail Blog” where I documented the preparations and results of the sailing trip with Scott. Then, the trip was over and I wanted to just blog about anything, but I couldn’t because this was a sailing blog. So, finally in the beginning of February ‘07 I re-branded this blog to “Think This //” and opened it up.

I blog because it is fun. It makes me think. I forces me to put into writing what I am thinking. I teaches me to write better. It allows me to express myself. It aids me to share with my friends and family. It facilitates finding new friends and networking with new people.

Blogging and Vacation

blog, family, travel by marek 21 Comments »

arizonavacation.jpgLast week I found out that blogging and being on vacation does not mix well. The intentions were there I promise, the subject matter plenty, but no execution. It also did not help that there was no Internet connection on premises. Needless to say I was not posting much last week. Sorry.

Last week we were on vacation in Phoenix, AZ where the temperatures were in record 90’s for this time of year. It was wonderful. Chilling by the pool, sun bathing, driving to Sedona and the Grand Canyon were the required activities of the week. We took lots of pictures which we will share in the next few days. That is a beautiful part of the Union in many ways: the weather, the view, the landscape, and the people were very friendly.

From our non-rev travels to Arizona we learned this time to stay at the gate until the airplane leaves, no matter what, no matter that all seats were taken, no matter that there were 20+ stand-by, non-rev passengers above you. But because they were not at the gate just before the departure, we took advantage of the fact that 4 regular passengers missed their flight due to whatever unfortunate for them circumstances. It was pretty amazing. Some told us we were crazy to non-rev travel during the Spring Training and the Spring break. All went well. Some would call it “so lucky” others call it being in the right place at the right time, while we call it being very blessed.

On the way back from Phoenix there were no empty seats for couple of days in a row so we drove to San Diego, CA to catch a flight. It was a nice 5+ hour drive through Arizona and California’s dessert dunes and mountains.

We definitely would like to go back to Phoenix Arizona some day again.
